Helping Adults and Adolescents Face Challenges and Reclaim Control Over Their Lives
Are you feeling overwhelmed or having difficulty coping with something in your life? You may be experiencing depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, conflict in a relationship, or post-traumatic stress. Perhaps you are seeking a sense of purpose, inner peace, or greater life satisfaction. You don't have to face these challenges on your own. Seeking counseling can be a big step toward making positive changes in your life.
Areas of Specialty
Are you experiencing difficulties such as excessive worry, frequently feeling on edge, urges to avoid certain situations or tasks due to discomfort or dread, or panic attacks? You may have difficulty sleeping or feel increasingly isolated due to anxiety. I understand the extent to which anxiety can interfere with daily activities and get in the way of truly living your life. I can help you learn how to manage anxiety symptoms and create more calm and satisfaction in your life.
Do you sometimes experience a persistent low mood, fatigue, lack of motivation, or feelings of worthlessness or guilt? Do you find yourself getting stuck thinking over and over about upsetting past experiences? I understand how frustrating it can be to feel like your mind and body are working against you and I want you to know that there is hope. We can work together to help you become more self-aware and empowered so that you can thrive.
Some people continue to experience the impact of a traumatic experience for months or even years afterward. As a trauma-informed therapist, I provide a safe setting in which to help you heal from trauma and go on to live a satisfying life. One treatment option that I offer is Prolonged Exposure Therapy, a specific form of cognitive behavioral therapy for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) that has been shown to be effective for reducing symptoms.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is consuming and debilitating. If it seems like unwanted obsessions and compulsions have taken over your life, I want you to know that you do not have to continue to live this way. Proper treatment can greatly improve your life. One of my specialties is providing ERP, which research has shown to be the most effective form of therapy for OCD.
