Philadelphia NEDA Walk 2018

Philadelphia, PA NEDA Walk
Sunday, April 22, 2018

The National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA) is a nonprofit organization that supports individuals and families affected by eating disorders and is a leader in the fight against eating disorders.

Some facts about eating disorders from NEDA's website:

  • Eating disorders have the highest mortality rate of all mental health disorders
  • 30 million American men and women will develop an eating disorder at some point in their lives
  • Half of teen girls and a third of teen boys use unhealthy weight control behaviors

NEDA hosts walks across the country to raise awareness about eating disorders and funds to support eating disorder prevention and treatment programs. These walks help to decrease the stigma surrounding eating disorders and build communities to decrease the sense of isolation that many people with eating disorders experience.

This year the Philadelphia NEDA Walk will take place on the morning of Sunday, April 22, 2018. It will take place near the sports stadiums in South Philadelphia. Register or donate now to help NEDA reach its fundraising goal of $75,000!
